Newborn sessions are all about capturing those sweet, tiny moments with your little one. It’s best to book during your second trimester to make sure we get a spot, and we’ll aim for the first two weeks after birth when your baby is still sleepy and cuddly. I have a comfy studio where we can create a relaxed, cozy vibe for your session. We’ll focus on all those little details—the tiny hands, feet, and the special connection between you and your baby—so you can treasure these early moments forever!

When is the best time to book my Maternity Photoshoot?

You can book in as soon as you are on your second trimester - It is best to book in as early as possible, as I take limited maternity and newborn sessions each month to allow flexibility around due dates.

I recommend scheduling your maternity photoshoot for around 32-35 weeks due, when your baby bump is nice and big, but you are still comfortable enough moving around.

You can book your newborn photoshoot as soon as your second trimester. It is best to get in as early as possible, as I take limited newborn bookings each month to allow flexibility around due dates.

What is included in Maternity sessions?

JK Photography offers a wide range of gowns, and indoor outfits for your maternity session - Each session is tailored to your needs and you will get to try them on in your consultation.

I also offer full professional hair & make-up for each session, so all you've got to do is show up! :)

At what age do you do the newborn photoshoot?

We will tentatively pencil in your due date, then once baby arrives you can pop me a message and we can confirm a date and time. Newborn sessions are typically done between 7-21 days old, given you and baby are both happy and healthy and can come into the studio.

what should i wear to my family photoshoot?

For your family photoshoot, I recommend wearing something that feels comfortable and true to your style, while keeping the overall look coordinated. Stick to natural, earthy colors—think soft neutrals, warm tones, and gentle pastels—that complement each other and create a timeless vibe. Avoid overly busy patterns or logos that can distract from the moment. The key is to keep it relaxed and authentic, so everyone feels like themselves. Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel good and confident!

Do I need to bring anything to my newborn session?

The short answer is, no. I provide everything needed for the newborn session. Once your session is confirmed I will send you through a prep guide to prepare for your session. We will also discuss the setups and colour preference prior to your session, so it is all ready to go by the time you arrive.

Can we meet before the session?

Absolutely! All my sessions include a phone consultation - If you wish to pop in for a chat, just give me a heads up and I can meet you at the studio. For maternity sessions we usually schedule a time before the photoshoot to fit the dresses.

How long till I receive the final photos?

An ordering appointment will be scheduled a few days after your maternity/newborn photoshoot, where you choose your favourite and final images -

All sessions will be delivered within 2 weeks, including family photoshoots.
